Diving into the world of Seychelles is like opening a tropical novel, where each accommodation becomes an enchanting chapter, etched with white sand and the rustle of crystal-clear waters. Whether you come to flirt with the luxury of Côte d'Ivoire or to play the modern Robinsons, the island has that rare gift of solving everyday problems and boosting the soul. Imagine yourself, in the early hours of the morning, your feet caressed by the warm dew, the horizon ablaze with gold and pink: the promise of a timeless stay. Because here, accommodation is not just a cocoon, but a lever for immersion, an extension of the luxuriant setting. And yet, happiness is not just for black card holders: between bucolic ecolodges, charming guest houses and wilderness camps that respect the biotope, everyone can find the perfect setting to experience their insta-dire "wow moment".
This opening act sets the scene, reminding us that choosing a Seychelles nest is often the first step on a sensory rollercoaster: gentle lapping, tropical birdsong, the scent of vanilla and exuberant vegetation. In this natural theatre, the accommodation becomes an actor: serving your comfort, inspiring your mornings, soothing your evenings. And between you and me, it's sometimes even the hotel that steals the show from the beach...
Private luxury resorts - Six Senses, North Island Lodge, Constance Lemuria
When we think of chic Seychelles, we immediately think of these private resorts where luxury rhymes with exclusivity, and dreams with reality. Le Six Senses Zil PasyonThis jewel, founded by Félicité, is the archetypal top-of-the-range ecological cocoon: villas with infinity pools and plunging views over the Indian Ocean, gourmet materials - natural wood, rough stone, earthy and ochre tones - holistic spas and bio-sensory restaurants. I still remember the evening when I sipped an exotic fruit cocktail, sitting on a terrace on stilts, watching the sun slowly fall - and voila, the spirit escapes!
But if you want to experience the myth of honeymoons or follow in the footsteps of VIPs, head to North Island Lodge. Reserved for adults, this estate, one of the most popular with celebrities, offers ultra-spacious villas, a private pool per suite, kayaks available and walks to hidden coves: it's the height of romantic-chic cocooning. Here's an anecdote: I sparked a new passion for diving just 5 metres from the shore, after an impromptu initiation with a marine biologist - so much so that even the fish sang "welcome back" to me.
Not forgetting Praslin, where the Constance Lémuria brings together two of Seychelles' passions: discreet luxury and incredible golf. Playing on a green hemmed in azure and granite, with a breathtaking view over Anse Georgette, ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the world, is a visual poem. Refined suites, seaside spas and airy restaurants make this hotel a kind of friendly cathedral dedicated to zenitude and attentive service - where every glass of champagne seems like a toast to happiness.

Ecolodges & charming hotels - La Digue and Praslin
But if your travelling soul yearns for a more intimate and authentic atmosphere, without giving up comfort, ecolodges and charming hotels represent the perfect compromise. Take the Domaine de L'Orangeraieon the island of La Digue: elegant villas hidden under a coconut roof, surrounded by exuberant gardens where birdsong rivals the lapping of a discreet fountain. Over a morning coffee, I spotted a miniature gecko climbing a wooden pole - a real little tropical ninja! The atmosphere here is relaxed but well looked after, with a mosaic swimming pool, a restaurant serving reinvented Creole cuisine and friendly service.
On Praslin, Coco de Mer Hotel & Black Parrot Suites offers a peaceful retreat overlooking a turquoise cove. Bright suites, panoramic views, romantic evenings around a barbecue under the stars: I dined here facing a sky so clear I thought I could see the Milky Way dancing above my head. It felt like 'home', a desert island version of luxury. When I asked for a second round of coconut prawns, the chef said: "For you Madam, always with pleasure". The result: I found myself prolonging my morning break in a towel, facing the horizon, with a silence so soothing you'd have thought he was my travelling companion.
Guest houses and wild bungalows

For travellers on a tighter budget (but with their hearts wide open), guest houses in the Seychelles offer local warmth, adorable simplicity and close proximity to nature. On Mahé, in particular, Chez Batista is a real family cocoon: a warm welcome, home cooking, and a small confidential beach just a stone's throw away - the perfect place for a break between snorkelling and hiking in Le Morne. During my stay, the owner's cat climbed onto my lap for a siesta, and yesterday I realised that it's possible to feel so good when you're sharing the sweetness.
In Praslin, the Villa Anse La Blague embodies this type of discreet accommodation that brings you closer to your feet in the sand and the ever-present vegetation. The bungalow is rustic but charming, with a wooden terrace opening out onto the sea - guaranteed to wake you up to birdsong, all without air conditioning, just the tropical breeze: a soothing immersion in the wilderness. In the evening, around a barbecue shared with other guests, we swap diving stories: it's here that I made friends from my travels, around a fire that was suddenly a little improvised.
Add to that a few camps with rustic bungalows or semi-wilderness tents, set up on a hillside or facing a lagoon: adventure and respect for the environment on the menu. I tried out an eco-camp on a secondary island, where sleeping under a mosquito net to the sound of the waves puts the stars within your reach. This is where you discover that budget accommodation can rhyme with magical moments, sensory memories and dazzling returns.
